Using Future Devices on floormaps

Summary

You can add future devices to a map to plan and visualise replacements, upgrades or new installations. This feature is available in the Professional and Elite plans.

How it works

• Future devices allow you to visualise planned changes directly on the floormap. 
• You can place upcoming printers on the map, link them to existing devices and prepare layouts before anything is installed at the customer site.
• If you have configured replacement models under Account, Settings, Replacement models, these models will appear automatically when adding a future device. 
• If you have not added any replacement models, or you need a custom description, you can simply type your own name such as New Color MFP 55 pages per min.

Adding future devices

• Open the floormap you want to work with. 
• Select Add future device. 
• Choose a replacement model from the list or type your own description. 
• The new device (Green icon) is placed on the map. 
• Drag existing printers onto the future device to show which devices it will replace. This can be one to one or one future device replacing several smaller devices.

Downloading and sharing

When your planning is complete, you can download the floormap as a PDF or image. This makes it easy to share with customers, internal teams or use during meetings.

Things to note

• Future devices are for planning and do not affect live device data. You can use existing maps or upload new floorplans as needed. 
• Replacement models can be edited at any time under the account settings.
• This is a feature in ongoing development with future features to come. Stay tuned
