3manager helps you estimate the environmental footprint of your printer fleet based on real device data and recognised sustainability standards.
How we calculate kWh and CO₂ data
We calculate the kWh and CO₂ data using the following metrics:
- For every model, we know the power consumption in operation, standby, and sleep.
- The data collector scans the devices every hour to check if they return data.
- When the day is over, we have a complete overview of how many hours the device was on, the total volume printed, and its status throughout the day.
- There is a Green Profile, available under Settings at the account level. Here you can add your office day start and end times, which we use in cases where we do not receive status data from the printer. For example, if the workday ends at 17:00, 3manager assumes that devices are in sleep mode from 17:00 until 08:00.
- In the Green Profile settings, you can also add the cost of your kWh as well as CO₂ per kWh. Please note that average values should be entered. You can also define the average number of pages per print job and daily cold starts to further refine the calculations.
- 3manager uses international sustainability reports to estimate the CO₂ footprint from: Printer and MFD production Toner production End-of-life destruction of printers If you do not wish to follow the default sustainability report standards, you can define your own CO₂ production values under Settings → Models, filter by model, and enter your values.
- All data is available in the Green Profile dashboard. If the PrintReleaf integration is enabled, you can also track your reforestation progress here.
- In the Equipment dashboard, you can view estimated CO₂ and kWh usage for each device. Please note: This view includes only electricity consumption and estimated CO₂ emissions, not production-related values.
